What have been the biggest highlights 和 or accomplishments of 2017 for the Finance Authority of New Orleans?

过去一年, the Finance Authority of New Orleans, board 和 staff under the leadership of our Executive Director Damon Burns, has worked conscientiously to 重塑, 振兴 和 改造 2017年的自己. The work has been consistent 和 at times difficult 和 has taken the dedication of the entire team in bringing forth the following highlights 和 accomplishments:

重塑 – 法诺 has launched a successful rebr和ing campaign that has included a new logo, bold new colors an updated mission to improve the quality of life in the city of New Orleans by directly investing in the creation of affordable housing 和 economic development projects that produce quality jobs 和 wealth for residents. The rebr和ing campaign included a launch at the New Orleans Jazz Market that drew New Orleans citizens, 市领导, 房地产经纪人, 银行, developers 和 many of our partners in the housing arena.

振兴 – 法诺 has revitalized its Partnerships with the City of New Orleans, Housing Authority of New Orleans (HANO), New Orleans Redevelopment Authority (NORA), 和 a number of diverse organizations, neighborhoods 和 agencies across the city including, The Greater New Orleans Housing Alliance (GNHOA), Neighborhood Housing Services (NHS), Neighborhood Development Foundation (NDF) 和 many others.

再造 – In 2017 法诺 has reinvented its signature homebuyer program, 为, “拥有新奥尔良”, that allows homebuyers to acquire downpayment assistance on 1 or 2 unit, 单户住宅. We are also developing new initiatives with our partners 和 the City’s Office of Resilience, while we continue to reinvent our longst和ing programs to ensure that our mission is fully realized.

 

作为董事会主席, how have you seen 法诺 be a benefit to the community 和 the people it serves?

法诺 continues to be a staple in the New Orleans community for first-time homebuyers. We foster our commitment to community through direct investment in homeownership programs 和 working with our partners to ensure all communities move toward prosperity. We believe that every New Orleanian should have access to affordable homeownership 和 our programs are being designed to address this pressing need in our neighborhoods. Citizens are also able to access credit counseling 和 homebuyer education through our partnership with the Louisiana Homebuyer 教育 Collaborative, which helps to foster success in maintaining homeownership 和 establishing stable neighborhoods.

 

What are 法诺 和 its board proposing to accomplish in the coming year?

法诺, through its 董事会 of Directors 和 Executive Director, will continue in vision setting 和 helping to build partnerships so that we can fulfill our mission for all of the citizens in New Orleans. We will work our strategic plan by focusing on our short term goals, one being diversification of our business portfolio 和 income streams. 在过去的几年里, 许多家庭, 道路, 学校, 和 hospitals have been rebuilt 和 increased commercial development has happened across the City. It is our goal to have 法诺 represented in this continuing economic development in 2018. Lastly, 2018 will mark 40 years of existence in the New Orleans Community. 2018年4月, 法诺 will also host the National Association of Local Housing Finance Agencies annual conference here in our great city. We look forward to displaying the work that 法诺 has done over the past year 和 continuing that momentum into 2018 和 the next 40 years.
